Practicing Yoga with Kids.

We here at Yoga Sol know how hard it is to practice yoga at home when you have young ones asking for attention. We also know that most Yoga Studio’s  have great Mums and Bubs classes then nothing until Little Yogis at the age of 4. Leaving a big gap in between.

That’s why we have started our Mummy and Me class. Every Wednesday and Friday at 9:30am for 1 hour

This class is for you Mummy to come and practice Yoga while your little one’s play safely in the room along side you.  Ok so I know what your thinking. How does the ambiance go with a room full of toddlers?

You would be surprised how lovely it is to be on your mat with the little ones around. There is some disruption, someone needing something to snack on or someone needing to be changed. We can often hear the banging of the drum or shaking of the eggs, the soft sigh of the new born or the deep belly laugh as the older kids tumble down the yoga blocks that double up as a fortress or a bridge. We have created a safe environment for play and a place where disruption of the class is expected. We encourage the children to play and be children. With no expectation of the perfectly behaved child you will be welcomed and made to feel a part of the Yoga Sol Family.

I know when you think of yoga you think soft lighting blissful chants and we all look forward to Savasana at the end.

Well why save that for just us? Our kids are natural Yogis. Have you seen your toddler squat!! Let them take in the ambiance of the yoga studio and watch Mummy move her body. They take in so much and feed off the calm that settles over you as you breath and find your space on your mat.

Savasana takes on the form of Snuggle time. A lovely time of either Feeding or cuddles and kisses. Everyone loves a cuddle!  If you feel like doing Yoga in a structured class but can not find a studio with a built in creche this is your class.

All ages are welcome and we hope to see you at Yoga Sol soon.

Beginners Inversion Immersion

Life got you feeling Topsy Turvey?
Claire will help you get to grips with basic inversions from downward dog to shoulder (Sarvangasana) and head (Sirsasana) stands in this one hour workshop.
11th of March from 4 pm-5 pm.
Cost $20 all class passes can be used
Inverted postures improve lymph and venous circulation.
They work the heart and boot the immune system. Increased blood supply to the endocrine glands at the throat is the reason why inversions are considered to be hormonal balancers.
As holding a position with a whole new relationship with gravity demands a certain steadiness of body and mind, inversions are calming poses.
Inversions let us see things from a different angle, they lessen tiredness and develop concentration.
Inversions quiet the mind and settle the system down.
This is a Great opportunity to get comfortable in these poses in a relaxed workshop enviroment so you can feel more comfortable to introduce them at the end of your class or home practice
