Hatha Yoga is a Term used now for a General class.  You will discover Yoga and all its aspects in this safe and rounded general Class. The Sanskrit word Hatha means Forceful and is actually the correct term used for all Asana or posture Yoga.

Iyengar Yoga (Sat Mornings Private Bookings through Camille)

Iyengar Yoga has its roots firmly connected to classical yoga, referencing clearly the source, the sage Patanjali.

With regards to the postures or asana, attention is given to alignment where the body parts are cued to connect properly to support safe extension of flexibility and a gradual strengthening process.  The mind is immersed in the process and has no opportunity to wander, thus a meditative state is cultivated.  Emotional fluctuations are calmed and mental stability naturalises over time with a dedicated practice.  Each class has breathing (pranayama), meditation and relaxation embedded in the sequence for a challenging yet well-rounded and balanced session that will leave you feeling worked, spacious and relaxed.

Qi Gong

Much like yoga, Qi Gong is an ancient practice of integrated posture, gentle movement, breath work, self massage, sound and focused intent. This practice originates from China, and is practiced with the intent of opening the flow of energy (Qi) within the meridian system used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to promote wellness and good health in mind, body and spirit.

Sound Bath Meditation

A guided Meditation including Breath (Pranayama), visualisation and an awakening of spirit. Then dropping into silence and allow the sound of the Nepali singing bowls to recalibrate your systems. The deepest meditation you will experience.  Deeply uplifting with plenty of stillness and silence.

Yin
Yin is a slower paced class, where the yoga poses are held for longer periods of time, with a deeper focus on stretching, and breathing.  You will find in a Yin class that most of the poses are seated, and lying poses. Depending on your comfort level the poses can be held anywhere from 30 seconds to up to 5 minutes, which may sound daunting but it is a relaxing class, as the poses are not as strong as your typical Hatha class.
